Usk Istanbul Aşiyan Sahili Eskiz Buluşması

    Yazdan kalma günlerin tadını çıkarmak adına bu hafta açıkhavada çizim yapmaya karar verdik. Hisartüstü'nde buluştuktan sonra yavaş yavaş sahile doğru ilerledik. Tabi ilerlerken bir yandan da çizmeye devam ettik.

     We decided to draw in the open air this week to enjoy the summer days. After meeting in Hisartüstü we move slowly towards the coast. Of course, we continued to draw while we were on our way.

     Bu haftaki buluşmayı güzel yapan olaylardan biri de mezarlık ziyareti oldu. Ne zamandır gitmek isteyip bir türlü yolumun düşmediği Aşiyan Mezarlığında yıllarca kitaplarını okuduğumuz, adlarından saygıyla bahsettiğimiz insanlarla karşılaştık. Bedenleri yok olmuş olsa da, hayatları, kitapları ve yaptıklarıyla hayatımıza yön vermeye devam ediyorlar. 

     One of the events that made this sketchwalk so nice was the visiting to Asiyan Cemetery. In Aşiyan Cemetery we met with the people whom we remembered with respect. Even though their bodies have disappeared, they continue to illuminate our lives with their books.

Dolmabahçe Sahili Eskiz Buluşması

     Hepimiz vaktimizi geçirmek için birşeylerle uğraşıyoruz. Televizyon izliyor, kitap okuyor, sokakta geziyor yahut başka şeylere dalıyoruz. Fakat asıl sorulması gereken bu yaptıklarımızdan geriye nelerin kaldığıdır. Bu hafta bizde vakit geçirmek adına yine toplandık ve size bu yazıda yine bu zaman diliminden geriye kalanlardan bahsedeceğim.
     We are all working on something to spend our time. We watch TV, read books, walk in the streets or dive into other things. But the real question is what remains behind what we do. We have gathered again this week to spend our time and I will show you what left behind from this weekend.

Bu haftasonu buluşma yeri olarak Beşiktaş Deniz Müzesini seçtik. Çizerlerimiz birer birer damladılar. Yürünecek bir sürü yol ve çizilecek çok şey olduğu için öncelikle işe enerji toplamakla başladık. Sonrasında Müzeye girdik ve sandallar, gemi başları, saltanat kayıkları arasında kendimize uygun sahneleri bulup çizmeye başladık.

We chose the Beşiktaş Naval Museum as a meeting point for this weekend. At the morning, we gathered one by one. Then because there are so many distances to walk and lots of things to draw, we started with breakfast. Later we entered the museum and searched for finding proper places for ourselves between boats, ship heads, and sailboats.

Her buluşmamızda kendimizi geliştirmek adına farklı farklı şeyler denemekten çekinmiyoruz. Bu haftada kendimize 15 dk kuralını koyduk. Bu kural şu şekilde işliyor. Her çizim için içimizden birisi 15 dakika tutuyor ve tüm çizimi 15 dakika içine sığdırmaya çalışıyoruz. Başta biraz zorlansak da şu anda uyum sağladık diyebiliriz, hatta bu resimlerimiz içerisinden çok sevdğimiz resimler bile çıktı diyebilirim.
We do not hesitate to try different things in order to improve ourselves. This week we put 15 min rule for ourselves. This rule works like this; for each sketch, one of us is holding 15 minutes and we're trying to fit the entire sketch in that 15 minutes. At first, even we are a little bit hardened, we can say that we have adapted to this situation, and I must admit that I love that rule a lot.

Topkapı Sarayı Bahçesi Eskiz Buluşması

     Geçtiğimiz Pazar günü yine USK İstanbul'un eskiz günlerinden biriydi. Her seferinde sabah binbir çile ile üşene üşene kalkıp, gideceğim saate kadar nasıl etsem de bu işten kaytarsam diye düşünürken, gün bitiminde çantamda resimlerle eve dönerken mutlu mesut bir halde iyiki bugün de gelmişim diyorum. Bu sefer bizi biraz da zorlayacak bir mekan olan Ayasofya ve Topkapı Sarayı'nı seçtik.

     Last Sunday, we -the Sketchwalkers of the Constantinapoli- meet for another sketch walk. This time weather was hot and the mission was so much challenging. The places that we choose for drawing is with lots of domes and cylindrical shapes Hagia Sophia Mosque and Topkapı Palace, but we couldn't accept an easy defeat. Then we gathered and promise ourselves for trying to draw what we scared.

     Then we take our instruments and started to find a proper place for drawing. Our first stop was Aya Irini Church, which located in the first courtyard of the palace. After that, we packed our stuff and walked to our next point. This time we stopped in front of the main gate of the palace. In that point, we tried another method and give ourselves just ten minutes to finish our sketches, mine was terrible so you wouldn't see my drawing, instead of mine you can see our successful sketchers pictures.

     Then we moved on one of the inner gates and stopped to draw different scenes.

Finally, we drew few more sketches and finished the day. Before USK Istanbul meetings, I've never thought that I could be happy with the people that I don't know before. Even we didn't saw each other before, we talked like ten-year-old friends. Here other scenes from our sketch walk day.

Rahmi M. Koç Müzesi Eskiz Buluşması

     Eskiz buluşmalarımız her seferinde daha da motive edici oluyor. Geçen sefer aynı süre zarfında iki üç resmi zor çizmişken, bu sefer baya baya resim çizdim. Gemileri ve uçakları çizmeyi ne zaman denesem bir facia ile karşılaşıyorum, bu sefer her şeye rağmen denedim. Fenerbahçe vapurum fena olmadı. Uçakta sonuç yine her zamanki gibi fiyasko, daha fazla gayret etmem gerekiyor. Bu sefer lafı kısa kesip sizi çizimlerim ile başbaşa bırakıyorum.

     Day by day sketch walks become more challenging for me. Last time, I just drew few sketches, but this time was different. I tried to draw lots of scenes. Addition to that, in these sketch walks, I tried to draw different things, especially things that freaks me out. Drawing planes and ships work are very hard for me, this time I decided to take the plunge. The ship is ok, but aircraft is very bad. Here some of my sketches.
